LA NERI SOTTOLI – SELLE ITALIA – KTM AL TOUR OF UTAH CON UN NUOVO LOOK PER IL DEBUTTO AMERICANO

Lunedì sarà una giornata storica per la Neri Sottoli – Selle Italia – KTM in quanto il Tour of Utah segnerà il debutto della squadra di Angelo Citracca negli Stati Uniti in 11 anni di storia.

Un cronoprologo e sei tappe in linea per quella che viene considerata come la corsa a tappe più dura del Nord America in cui la squadra diretta da Luca Scinto e Francesco Frassi sfodererà una nuova veste mettendo in risalto il marchio di Meter Group, azienda che sponsorizza la nostra squadra dalla scorsa stagione e la cui sede è a Pullman, nel vicino stato di Washington.

E’ proprio Luca Scinto, che l’anno scorso volò negli Stati Uniti per partecipare ad una Gran Fondo organizzata da Meter Group, a spiegare la scelta

“Il Tour of Utah è una delle corse più importanti di questa seconda parte di stagione, siamo riusciti per la prima volta ad ottenere l’invito e ci teniamo a fare bene perchè giochiamo praticamente in casa di uno sponsor per noi molto caro che abbiamo voluto omaggiare in questa occasione speciale. Abbiamo portato una squadra che si adatta perfettamente alla tipologia del percorso con Dayer Quintana che è in grande forma e che si troverà a suo agio soprattutto nelle frazioni in altura. E’ una grande opportunità per tutti e speriamo di coglierla.”

Accanto al corridore colombiano la squadra potrà contare in salita sull’apporto di Manuel Bongiorno e Edoardo Zardini, che in passato hanno ben figurato in questa corsa, mentre Umberto Marengo e Simone Velasco cureranno le frazioni di media montagna. La selezione è completata da due corridori giovani e versatili come Lorenzo Fortunato e Sebastian Schonberger.

TOUR OF UTAH: A NEW LOOK FOR OUR AMERICAN DEBUT

Monday will be an historical day for the team Neri Sottoli – Selle Italia – KTM as we will make our debut in the USA in 11 years of history at the Tour of Utah.

One prologue and six stages will be the menu of a race considered as the hardest one of North America and the team directed by Luca Scinto and Francesco Frassi will ride with a special kit that puts on the spotlight the logo of Meter Group, sponsor of our team from the last season with the headquartes in Pullman, Washington.

Luca Scinto, that last year flied to the USA to join a Gran Fondo organized by Meter Group, explains the choice.

“The Tour of Utah is one of the most important races of the second part of the season, for the first time we’ve got the invitation and so we are glad to do well. Meter Group is a special sponsor for us and so we decided to tribute this partnership like this. We brought a very competitive team with Dayer Quintana that is doing very well especially on the high altitude mountains. It’s a great chance for everyone and so we hope to take it”

Together with the colombian rider the team will have two valid helpers on the mountains like Manuel Bongiorno and Edoardo Zardini, who both already have rode this race before, with Umberto Marengo and Simone Velasco ready for the puncheurs sprints. The line up is completed by two strong all rounders like Lorenzo Fortunato and Sebastian Schonberger.
